Spectacular Photos of a Hot Air Balloon Trip Over Cappadocia, Turkey
Alessio Andreani is a London-based Italian photographer who travels frequently throughout Europe, taking photos along the way. Wherever he goes, he manages to capture beautiful views of the local scenery. “I try to catch what is important for the environment/country/culture I’m visiting, something that can be recognized as part of that ‘world’,” he says.
In fact, exploring the world was one of his first reasons for taking up photography. He’s inspired by nature’s beauty and takes photos as a way to remember special moments and memories from his trips. For example, during a trip to Turkey, he went on a hot air balloon tour at sunrise over the Cappadocia region with his family. The landscape of Cappadocia, seen from above in the rising sun, was simply spectacular. His photos not only show this beautiful sight, but also capture the memory of such a wonderful trip with his family.
Alessio’s favorite memory from the trip was the surprising quiet of the hot air balloon, flying in such an amazing place with her family without the noise of an engine. “It was beautiful and respectful of the quiet of a sunrise in the nature,” he says.
However, taking photos in a moving balloon wasn’t always easy. It was especially challenging to set the camera properly with a fast shutter speed to avoid blur. He says the photo entitled ‘Enjoy Your Trip’ took the most effort to get right because the girl, his sister, was really close to the lens. “I couldn’t use f/8 or more for high def because of the low light. So i had to find a balance between f and def,” he explains.
Still, the most important thing Alessio has learned since becoming a photographer is that there are no “wrong” photos. Even if the photo isn’t exactly how you had wanted it to be, it’s still a good photo “if it means something to someone,” he says.
The Cappadocia region in Turkey is well-known for its beautiful nature, unique history and rich culture. Besides hot air ballooning, there are underground cities and fascinating rock formations to visit. “People are great and you can really enjoy a peaceful vacation in a stunning landscape,” Alessio says.
And a tip for photographers: “The rock formations shine with incredible colors during sunset!”
